Great. Do you know the correct course of action? Do I make a complaint to the estate agent?0 -
However our house was too advertised as off street parking, then we had a police warning sticker slapped on the windscreen saying we could be prosecuted for driving over the pavement.
Wonder if its too late to try and get our £1,250 back as it was 11 years ago.0 -

I would assume in those 11 years the price has gone up.
Presumably a maximum rate set by the council and all the contractors are colluding to use the maximum.
Unless the council set the rate, in which I doubt they have the powers to enforce set pricing on private contractors.0 -
1. Make a formal complaint to the EA (email is usually fine) clearly stating why you are unhappy and what you would like them to do to right the wrong. I would cite the case shared by Murphybear to encourage them to do the right thing without having to go to the TPO.
2. Wait for 8 weeks or a deadlock/final viewpoint letter from the EA.
3. Go to the TPO.
Do make sure everything is in writing (email) as far as possible. If the EA calls back to discuss the complaint, summarise the call in an email to them right after.Great. Do you know the correct course of action? Do I make a complaint to the estate agent?0 -

I take a lot of interest in the housing site. I am going to train as a CAB adviser in the New Year and housing is one of the commonest issues.0 -

OP send a proof of posting as well as evidence as well as sending an email"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

Purchased a house and the estate agent description said ‘off road parking’ and the vendor wrote parking is around the front of the house and also back drive. The house has a paved area to park a card.
However idiot here didn’t check for a dropped curb, and it doesn’t have one. Doesn’t require planning permission as it’s not a main road but does need approved contractor to do the work and I would guess report to council.
Costing £1800 via a desktop quote. I suspect a lamppost might cause issues though.
Anyone sued the vendor or estate agent? I’m gutted.
This says that there is a back drive. So you do have offstreet parking just not at the front?0 -

No the front doesn't have a big enough garden.
The back of the house has a sort of drive way with big double gates. I'm guess I can have a dropped curb around the back of my house?
How do you access the back of the house, is there a road both at the front and rear of your property? It's nothing , not nothink.0 -
