yeah he is.
what can i say if he says he has no idea.
Nothing i suppose but it would be somethign i would want to ask Vaillaint about, how they can have advanced vaillaint engineers roaming about who `havent got a clue` when it develops a fault, at the very least he should be attending and calling them for techncal adviceNever, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0 -

I have just moved into my new house and my boiler is going the same thing, it clicks quite a few times when the heating is on, did you get an engineer out and find out what the issue was?
Advice appreciated

Becky, is it the same make and model of boiler?
And is the noise as loud as the video suggests? It's a sudden and crisp 'click' like that?0 -
happypie said:firstly this isn't my video, however i am having exact same problem with my Vaillant ecoTEC Plus 938

(video description has time when click sound is produced from boiler)
i contacted Valillant and their engineer is due to visit next week.
however their terms and conditions say that only fault in boiler is covered (not even flue which is also from Vaillant). also installation faults, issue with pipe work etc will not be covered. if issue is found elsewhere than boiler then i have to pay 100 plus vat otherwise they will void warranty.
boiler is less than a year old and warranty is for 10 years.
anyway i just want to check if anyone else here faced similar problem and where the issue might be?
thanks.
My annual boiler service is next month so my new Vaillant combi boiler is only 11 months old.
I will mention the clicking noise when he arrives.
I had the installation carried out by a heating company and I was told if I don't use them for annual boiler services then my 10 year warranty will be void !1 -
"I had the installation carried out by a heating company and I was told if I don't use them for annual boiler services then my 10 year warranty will be void!" I wonder if that claim of theirs is in fact true? (I dunno).I understand that car manufacturers used to insist on the annual services being carried out by their authorised dealers, but that's been challenged; provided your chosen garage follows the car's servicing requirements as outlined in the servicing booklet, it's a 'valid' service and the warranty remains intact. I'd imagine - if someone were to challenge boiler manufacturers - the same would apply? Is there any reason why you don't want to use the installer? It would be great if you came back with their findings about the noise. It's a mystery at the mo'.
