Free car servicing not being honoured

Why? You only seem to like opinions that agree with your own and that one does.you want but you seem to only want to hear you're right. You've managed to wholly convince yourself of your absolute entitlement to a full refund, and that's thanks to persistence from me and other posters.
Wow. Who is getting stroppy now?
I was actually looking to see if people thought (based on the facts I have and know to be true) I had a case to ask for a refund or whether I should just accept being out of pocket. I made that clear in my original post and I don't see how you have convinced yourself that I just wanted affirmation of my right to a refund? Maybe it is because I am disagreeing with you, and you had already made your mind up in the other direction?
No, I don't have any more information to hand than I did when I started the thread, but surely the point of this forum is to give an opinion based on the facts to hand, rather than just reply to people asking them to find extra information. If that is all you do, why did YOU reply in the first place??0 -
Because it's interesting, and even better when one comes up against someone so defensive.
For what it's worth, I suspect you will get some form of gesture. Perhaps not a refund, but maybe the third service FOC or discounted. But as to what you're entitled to, I've still no idea, along with you and anyone else. That doesn't get you anywhere though.0 -

In fact, you have already asked, haven't you? The dealer said speak to Dacia UK. Dacia UK said "You've left it too long".or whether I should just accept being out of pocket. No, I don't have any more information to hand than I did when I started the thread, but surely the point of this forum is to give an opinion based on the facts to hand
And you still seem to be ignoring the major elephant in the room - why did you simply pay the dealer at the time, rather than questioning it? Why leave it a year?0 -
Based on the following facts, do I have a case to demand a refund:
- The sales invoice only states the existence of two years of free servicing (as it is just a single page line item invoice).
- There isn't (or ever was) any documentation regarding the servicing offer.
- The dealer has stated that the information was not added to their system when the car was purchased for an unknown reason, and that is why it was not showing that the service should be free when it took place.
- Dacia have stated that the dealer should have claimed the money back for the service, and they will not be able to do so now as 'it is beyond the claim period'.0 -
Of course you can ask.

No. Dacia said the dealer had left it too long to reclaim the cost of the service. My point is, is that really my problem? And you still seem to be ignoring the major elephant in the room - why did you simply pay the dealer at the time, rather than questioning it? Why leave it a year?
I covered this at the start of the thread. I forgot I had free servicing at the time of the first service (I was moving house at the time, a few days before Christmas). It was only when I went for the second service a couple of weeks ago that I remembered, and checked that was the case, and then mentioned it to the dealer.0 -

Because you just paid, didn't say "But hold on", and then didn't raise it as an issue for a year. And why? Because you forgot. My point is, is that really my problem?I covered this at the start of the thread. I forgot0 -

Fair enough. Only being defensive though because basically it came across as "The sales invoice doesn't say I had to do anything", "I can't take your word for that without you having it in front of you". I'm not an idiot, and I know the exact wording on the sales invoice wasn't relevant as it literally just mentions " with two years free servicing". All I was asking for was advice, based on the fact that the wording is as I stated. If it isn't that's my own fault surely?
A third service FOC is no use as I am selling the car shortly. Obviously I am going to try and ask for a refund, and obviously I could have just done this without posting here, but I just wanted opinions on whether it seemed like a lost cause or not, given the time frame.0 -

I covered this at the start of the thread. I forgot
”Exactly.
I don't contest any of this. My point is that I was never told I had to request the free service, so surely I have just been overcharged by a fault of the dealer's system? I agree that I was stupid to forget, but does that mean the fact they overcharged me can't be contested now? What is the time limit for that?0 -
Nobody's asking about the invoice.
The servicing plan will have come with Ts & Cs.
They aren't public on Dacia's website... But you should have received a copy.

As I replied to you at the start of this thread, it wasn't a "service plan". A service plan is a credit agreement that you pay monthly that covers your servicing (for a minimum of 3 years in the case of Dacia). This was just an incentive that was offered for a short period of time on the specific model of car I purchased, whereby you would receive the first two annual services for free. It came with no documentation at all.
And everyone else is asking about the sales invoice.0
