Mobile Contract Fraud - Cold Calling Scam 'Phone Limited'
I've tried emailing MSE but received the standard reply, I need to get ahead of these scammers, they are duping hundreds of victims a week!
I need your help
This has been reported to Trading Standards and ActionFraud (weeks ago), however things seem to be progressing very slowly and the fraudsters are upping their game!
We are keeping an article updated with the latest phone numbers and addresses the scammers are using as well as copies of emails they send to victims, here >>>
[cannot post a link] Please Google: Mobile scam Phone Limited
and you should see the article we're updating daily.
The fraudsters are basically convincing victims to give their personal and banking details over the phone for ridiculously cheap mobile deals that don't exist and then using the victims details to order high end phones on expensive contracts. (£80+ a month! )
They then call the victims and ask them to send back the phones (to addresses in the Bolton area) by pretending they've made a mistake and it's someone else's order.
The fraudsters wait at the addresses, sign for the packages and steal the phones, leaving the victims with expensive 2 years contracts to pay and no phones to send back to where they were actually ordered from to cancel.
On top of this, once they do manage to sort things out, their credit score is ruined as the fraudsters have applied as many times as they can before the victims have been declined ... multiple times!
I'm looking for any exposure for this scam, if you have a blog, vlog, even on your social media, I'm looking for any help.
We are helping between 15 and 20 victims a day, however that's just the ones that contact us.
Also, if you have any ideas of how to get the word out it would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,
Andrew

If people are still stupid enough to hand over their personal details to cold callers then i really don't see how you can stop these scams.
There has been so much media coverage about scams that is people are still falling for them then they really can't be helped.0 -

Its called a stupid person tax. If they are gullible enough to engage with a cold caller they should be taxed0 -
Fair points.
We've heard from a victim today who realised they were being scammed, instead of sending the phone to the address given, the scammers received a box of sh*t!
Seriously though, nobody is showing any interest in exposing the crime, not even Which? or Trading Standards.
It's frustrating.0 -
