Anyone who is not convinced needs to see her in action:But wouldn't you want someone who can sell sand to Arabs as your CEO?My point is though, genuine passion is infectious. Someone who is passionate about something tends to have a better chance of bringing another around to their point of view. Evofem's CEO comes across as GENUINELY passionate to me. Even if she's not genuine, but a good actor, as you're suggesting might be the case, that is still not a bad thing, although I would take genuine over actor every time.I do agree that in the end it is results which count, but I also think that passion has a better chance of getting those results.People may be expendable, but a good CEO is not so easy to find as far as I can see. She has made at least one mistake (selling stock), but I think that was a naive mistake which she won't repeat again, and I'm hopeful that she will more than make up for it given half a chance.Of course I may have completely misread her, but I don't think so, otherwise I would not be invested in her company.0

Anyone who is not convinced needs to see her in action:I believe Elizabeth Holmes of Theranos was similarly passionate, so I'd be very careful about putting too much faith in such abilities and in my eyes might even count as a negative.2

Appreciate the feedback NottinghamKnight & Phil.In the case of Theranos the product was shown to be a sham, but I don't think that is the case here - Phexxi has been approved by the FDA, so it is what it's claimed to be.I can certainly appreciate that a passionate CEO could potentially be a negative in some cases, but I really don't see why the opposite may not be true in other cases, and I still believe that to be the case here. Either way, I'm not "betting the farm" on it, so if I'm wrong it won't be a complete disaster! In other news, Amyris has been getting some great PR recently:Amyris Ranked Among World's Top Social And Environmental Impact Companies By Real Leaders®️It's already done very well in Mrs Brock's portfolio (over 270% gain currently) beating ARWR in terms of pure profit, and pushing her total portfolio gain to within spitting distance of 90%, and I think it will continue to run. Wishing I'd bought more for her!

I’ve worked in numerous companies led by such people. Many went tits up. They had grandiose plans that were not connected to reality. One was going to dominate the video conferencing market, worth billions, except the market never took off. Another had a winning 3G product. They went bust. The last company I was in were going to dominate touchscreen controllers. To be fair they might do okay, but when I was there four out of eight staff resigned after xmas. And we didn’t get an xmas meal! The dot com bubble was stuffed with amazing companies led by charismatic people.
Some of the people I’ve dealt with have been fantasists, but you wouldn’t know that from seeing a presentation. They can sound very impressive. Many are narcissists too.3 -

Fair point, thanks. I will keep it in mind.
