Hello All.
Any advice or tips would be very helpful.
I am due to complete on 23.12.2019. I am a first time buyer and my experian credit is currently on 929.
I want to apply for a 0% purchases card so i can buy a few items for the house, but I was wondering when is the best time to apply for a new credit?
Should i do it before the mortgage shows on my credit file or after?
I am going to wait till i have the keys in my hand, before i do anything, but i was finking due to it be xmas period that they probably wont put on my file till the new year.
Any advice or tips will be helpful.

After the mortgage is complete.
As for when it’s on your file - it doesn’t matter.0 -
It is always recommended to not apply for any credit for 6 months before applying for a mortgage.
Credit files are usually updated once per month by lenders. The dates on which they report vary from lender to lender.
I cant see why you should have to wait for your mortgage to show on your credit files to apply for a credit card. If anything, apply before that new account shows on your report.
I would NOT apply for anything until you complete.
Also, make sure you are comfortable with your mortgage repayments, along with utilities, council tax etc before taking on another repayment such as a credit card.
Good luck with the new home.0
