The fact that your lease/AST does not mention permits, paying scammers, or being taken to court by scammers is good.

You have not broken the terms of your lease/AST so there is no requirement to even show a permit, and they do not have the right to extract [STRIKE]the urine[/STRIKE] payment from you.
