Hermes have lost a camera i sent to Scotland and have been told its on the exclusion list so tough luck no refund, now if id sent it via Parcel2Go/hermes i would be covered for lost parcel
    This is from Parcel2Go website

"If the item is lost within their network they will refund the cost of the carriage and the items value (Parcel protection must be taken out for any loss to be claimed)."

"Electrical Appliances That Are Not Considered White Goods Such As Cameras, Monitors, Computers, All In One Computers, Drones, Lamps, Laptops, Scanners, TV, Projector Or Any Item Similar In Description Or Content."

I don’t entirely follow your post, sorry, Parcel2go is a broker so don’t refund, they rely on any insurance you take that is supplied by the courier.

If i had sent it via Parcel2Go i would be getting a refund for lost camera which would have come from hermes via Parcel2Go
Just to make it clear if using P2G i would have used hermes as the carrier instead of using hermes direct

As I understand it, the brokers have their own insurance. I contacted Interparcel recently about sending a guitar via Parcelforce. Parcelforce themselves don’t insure instruments for more that £100, but if you book Parcelforce via Interparcel you can insure a guitar up to £2000 as it’s interpacel’s own insurance you are paying for (confirmed by Interparcel)

With apologies I was not aware of this as looking at previous threads they seemed to just deny any responsibility at all but it looks like you can buy additional insurance as an extra via parcel2go, I was going a dummy quote here,https://www.parcel2go.com/help-centre/parcels/question/pricing/will-there-be-any-parcel-protection-applied-to-my-order

For something relatively small, light and valuable I think I would have used RM Special Delivery which is fast and very reliable.  They also have no extra charges for Highlands , islands or NI although the service is slightly longer for some remote destinations.

So, sold a parcel, via Paclink Their tracking said attempted delivery, but client in all day with cameras, not delivered. eBay say take it up with Hermes, but can only get robots who wont answer anything but preprogrammed excuses . I've refunded buyer and now want compensation or item returned. No phone numbers other than robot, no email address, no forms. Thinking of small claims court now. Anyone know an address?

Hermes phone number is on their website 0330 808 5456.

But if you ordered from PackLink then you might need to contact them
