Very High Energy Bills - But Why..?

Gerry can you recommend a tumble dryer? Possibly from the Hughes website. I have a Bosch but I don’t think it has that sensor.0

Also if Bulb aren’t the cheapest, then who is?
My est annual usage for electric is 7297
My est annual gas is 29100 -
Use a clothes rack? Clothes dry for free from gas central heating.
Check the mini fridge specification for energy consumption - if it's one of those "beer" fridges it probably uses more than the main fridge.
Any halogen lightbulbs?
Does your smart meter have an in home display that shows live consumption data? If not get a monitor - great for seeing the effect of turning stuff on and off.
If it helps, we're in a 5 bed detatched - electricity spend around £60 p/m (but only halfway through the LED bulb conversion project), gas £180 last month, but there's a lot of sq m to heat (summer gas bill is £25 p/m)0 -
Some LED, some Halogen. But they do get left on by idiots. Can you get motion sensor led lights?0

That gas figure is nonsensical if you have gas central heating - we can use that in a month in the coldest Winter. I believe the typical usage for a 4 bedroom house is more like 13500 kwh pa.0 -

Where did you get this from - your November statement shows you used 50% of this in that month alone.
Concentrate on seeing where your energy goes - read your meter every day at the same time for a few weeks.
One electric shower a week - with 3 people in the household - really ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -

I think he means before converted to kwh.
Possibly - but if he put 2910 m3 (instead of 32600 kWh) in the comparison site no wonder he is finding problems with his bills. Even so 32600 kWh is fantastically high.
SurgicalA - did you take these figures from your previous supplier ? Take two bills 12 months apart where the meter readings are 12 months apart which have a letter A against them (never use Estimated figures where you have Actual ones)Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
