It's a great idea to do the 1%challenge SuperSavingD, it helped me to become debt free! It has gone quiet recently on this thread though which is a shame. Good luck with your debt busting!

Can I ask how you all know what extra you have to put towards your debts from any disposable income?  I have four different incomes that come in at different times of the month. Unfortunately my laptop is broken otherwise I would put everything on an excel spreadsheet so was wondering if there are any apps or other methods you use that I might find useful.  Thank you.
    Hi,
I use the ynab app to keep track of my budget. I have all my monthly expenses listed so I know how much I need in each month and then any additional income that comes in I can allocate to debt repayments or the EF.

  • Hi all,

I have updated the front sheet and will do a separate post below to welcome our newcomers.  Sorry I've been awol for so long. Life has been pretty tough since March, as DH was out of work for 4 months, I was pregnant, and I just haven't had the energy to come on this forum.  I haven't been keeping up with my 1%s as we have been paying the minimum payments only, due to lack of income.  Thoroughly grateful that we had an EF, although we still had to increase our debt to get through months of no work. DH is now back at work and we had DC4 6 weeks ago, but unfortunately I still won't be able to tackle our debts in the way I want to as we need to rebuild our EF.

I hope you are all ok. Hopefully I will be able to keep on top of this thread more going forward.

Number 16 checking in to say I've done it!! I've cleared 100% 😊
The only debt I have now is my mortgage so am planning on getting that paid off sooner rather than later.
Good luck everyone, keep going, it can be done 👍
    🎉Well done!🎉 That's fantastic news 😁

  • Please see below for new challengers numbers.  Firstly welcome to the 1% challenge. I hope you find it usual in helping to reach your debt busting/savings goals.   If you could mention your challenger number and the percentage reached in your updates (and bold the number and percent reached) that would make it lots easier for me when it comes to updating the thread.  e.g.  #1 now at 38%.
Good luck to you all with your 1%'s
