Ideas for eco-friendly Christmas wrapping

As a family we've drastically cut down on plastic use this year, particularly single use plastic, one thing we've also been doing is not buying new when we already have something at home we can use, so birthday presents this year have been wrapped in various papers we had left over on rolls, I've come to the end of this now though and looking for ideas for xmas present wrapping
I'm thinking of a roll of plain brown paper and plastic free tape? is there something more eco-friendly?
one idea I've seen online is cutting shapes out of orange peel and drying it to attach to gifts
orange peel decorations
I would welcome some more ideas on how to jazz them up a bit without spending money on single use items, especially for the children I'm buying for, the adults will hopefully appreciate the gift inside the plain wrapping, but if there are free ideas out there it's also nice to make people smile when they see their gift
thank you

Furoshiki is a great alternative. Basically it is cloth wrapping.
The great thing about using these to wrap is that the person can re-use the cloth in many different ways.
Bandanas
A bag for shopping
A scarf/shawl
A belt
Wrapping items when travelling
Wrapping around lunch box
A tablecloth
Decorative item (around the home or on a bag for example)
etc
They can even use the cloth to use to wrap a gift later back to you or someone else :T
You can buy plain ones or decorative ones.
As you said without spend - if you have material at home you could make these yourself quite easily.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0 -
also don't forget to abandon all that wasteful toilet paper... just do it the same way most eastern and southern nations do it, use one hand and plenty of water. Old fashioned potato stamping on plain paper to decorate it. You could use string instead of tape.
It's always worth considering who is receiving the gift at the end. There is no point in doing a nice cloth wrapping or some of the other reusable options if the receiver is not going to reuse it. We'd all like to think everyone is aware, but there is still a long way to go for a lot of people."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0 -
I've dried slices of orange and lemon on radiators over the last few days and attached one to each present, they look lovelyI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards.
