Hospital parking charge

Options
Hello all,

I am a member of staff at an NHS hospital where the parking is managed by gemini solutions. As I work part time I use a scratch card system to pay for parking. A couple of mo ths ago I arrived late for work and forgot to put my scratch card in the window. I received a parking ticket but stupidly forgot to appeal it and have now received a letter from a debt recovery service asking for £150. I feel like I may just need to write it off as a mistake and pay it but thought I'd ask here first in case anyone has any solutions. Thanks.

I would still appeal it on the grounds of unfair cost, ask to see the land owners contract and maybe scrutinise the sign or charge notice.
  • I was told that as it has now been passed on to debt collectors I am no lo ger entitled to appeal. Is this true?

When and if they issue court papers if you have left it too long for the appeals process.

Ask a board guide to move this to the Parking forum. In the meantime, read the NEWBIES FAQ in the parking forum.
  • Sorry how do I do that?

Go to the Motoring forum thread listing. Somewhere on the page you should be able to see Board Guides - the names are listed nearby. Click one of the names and then select to send a Private Message - include the link to this thread in your message.
  • Can I just add, I find it absolutely awful NHS staff have to pay for parking - it's just wrong IMO

Me too, but it's a cost we reluctantly accept in order to prevent essential services suffering from cuts.
At least at our place patients don't have to pay as well.

    Why? Everybody else has to.

Op does need to repost on parking forum and or Pepipoo.

Not sure I agree with staff not having to pay though. Should that apply to all workers in any employment?
