I have an old gas boiler (not a back boiler) but I would rather put off replacing it if gas powered boilers are likely to become obsolete in a few years

Jumping on the back of this thread, we moved into a 3 bed semi 10 years ago. It has a baxi back boiler which works fine. Installed in the 90's at a guess as the gas fire looks fairly modern - the guy who services it says it was one of the last models so could potentially last another 30 + years. The only thing that annoys me is the shower which is not very powerful, it just runs off the bath taps.

We are doing up the house at the moment and plan to sell in a couple of years time. Would you upgrade the back boiler to a combi or leave it as it is? We've had a few quotes which all range between £4-£4.5k. I can't work out if the house would sell at the same price whether we upgraded the boiler or not.. If you were buying a house would it make a difference to you what type of boiler it had?
