Multiple Accounts with Same Bank Question

The basic bank account product, AFAIK can't be upgraded to a full account and a seperate application will be necessary.
Sometimes the review is because the holder already holds one account type.
If the current account application is granted, I believe that the Basic Account will be closed shortly afterwards.0 -
Ive just heard that monzo and starling causes alot of problems. There are many many threads about this in this very forum. Bank freezes for no reason, poor customer service etc etc. I have the accounts but will not use anything more then £100 in those accounts0

Is this true because i have read on here that many basic accounts have been upgraded to current accounts with same sort code and account number. Barclays and nationwide in particular0 -

@xlnc99, if the high street bank who operates one of your basic accounts were to give you a current account, why would you want to keep the basic account open at all? Closing it, would take away the potential for needing two separate log-ins.0

That is what i want. There was no option to upgrade my basic account to a current one. I had to submit a new application. In doing that it asked me to make up a new username and password separate from the one which i already use as a login.
This was the basis of my thread. If by some miracle i get accepted will they close my basic? Will they let me keep both? How do i sign in both?
All hypothetical at the moment but was interesting to know if anyone had experienced this0 -

The only basic account that can't be upgraded is the Coop Bank's offering.
This likely to do with their archaic systems rather than a choice. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Quick question -
Has anyone got multiple bank accounts with the same bank? If so how would this work on your mobile app - do you need to log in separately with each account. I no most banks have it all on one account page but what if you have two separate accounts which require separate log ins
We have more than one account with First Direct, Nat West, Lloyds, Santander, Starling
I just open each bank's app to see all their accounts on the same 'log in'0 -
