Seller being pushy over furniture

Tell seller in no uncertain terms that you expect vacant property on possessions.
He will struggle to offload furniture. Most likely you can get some for free.
He is just trying on you.
Don't demonstrate you have fallen in love with the property. If you do so, he will think he got you.Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0 -

He's mental.
Stick to your guns. Either have no furniture, or just the wardrobes. Anything else and you're not interested.
Nobody wants his grubby, saggy tat0 -
Stuck to your guns, but be prepared they may withdraw from the sale.
Get hold of your solicitors to halt any further work until resolved.0 -
Id speak with EA and tell them you are being blackmailed and at such an early stage you are unwilling to risk this happening again near to Exchange, withdraw and lock elsewhere.0

Thank you all for your advice it has been very reassuring to see that we aren't crazy and it is the seller who is being unreasonable.
We had a chat with the EA today and explained the situation, he then went to go and see the seller to see why he was kicking off so much over this furniture. By the end of the day the seller changed his tone and has agreed to continue with the deal excluding the furniture.
This post has been invaluable in helping us see what our options were and how best to deal with the situation.0 -
That’s good to hear.
We’ll all keep our fingers crossed that the rest of the sale goes through without any further hiccups.0 -
Really good to hear of an outcome, it really helps others in future.
Hope the rest of it goes well and moving in soon0 -
Brilliant news0

Hurrah!!!
Just one word of caution- I wouldn't be completely surprised if, when you move in, he's left a load of stuff regardless. He sounds like the type. Might be worth having a back-up plan in case....0
