That's a beautifully subtle solution that has the double benefit of staffing to ensure somebody's available to sign for them, and inconvenience to the developer...getmore4less wrote: »For deliveries put alternative drop location as the show room.

I've lived in two roads, neither new builds but both had problems. One being a road that often got mixed up with a larger road of a similar name in the next village, and one house being on a terrace that was set away from the rest of the street and invariably missed because if hedges and it just looked like an entrance to a cycle route (we also had trouble finding the house when viewing).
For taxis, like others have said walk to the end of the road and flag them down, or if you can't do that, use Uber where you can add notes in the pick up comments.
Emergency services can and do find people in the remotest of places.
If deliveries go astray either have them delivered elsewhere or go with making your own temporary sign to say 'X road number Y round to the left'. It will no doubt be the quickest way to remedy.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

I'm loving the idea of using the show home as our delivery address."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0

We had the same situation years ago (before internet. My mum went out in the middle of the night and painted the name of the housing estate on the boarding. New signs went up quickly after that. Her argument was that she knew her address and the builders knew the address, but anyone passing didn't know they were there. We would have to walk to the end to flag down taxis and the emergency services when needed.0
