I know its not money saving but life isn't always about money, time is even more precious , I'd use the coin machine and suck up the 12%

Way I look at it its going to take a good few hours going to the bank, getting the bags, counting out, bagging up, going back and forth to the bank to deposit it all.
Don't make the mistake of thinking everyone's in the same position as you. Personally I've got lots of time and could do with the exercise.

i have the same bottle as you i think, i think its a 2 ft coke bottle?!

im around 75% full (been saving for around 4 years), hope to get around #500. i think it's a great way to save as you a reliterally putting coins into a bottle that would otherwise fall down the side of the sofa.

im lucky in the fact that a mate of mine owns a business that needs coin sorting machines so i just need to bring the bottle in and it converts straight to notes!
