Credit Car Hire - Non fault

Hi,
I recently had a non fault accident and the third party has already accepted fault. My car is now in for repair as of a couple of days ago and my rental car was dropped off on the same date.
I’ve been pretty naive and was a ‘yes man’ to whatever my insurance said to do (trusting they’re being legit and doing the right thing by me)
However, since signing for the credit hire car I’ve read all sorts of negative reviews that they will come to me for any costs not accepted by the third party’s insurer (theAA).
Am I liable here for costs? Surely I can’t be as it’s not my fault I was crashed into?
Is it possible to call the hire company and say that I do not want the car anymore? I do actually get the train into work on weekdays to london and just make small trips during the week... they’re charging the third party and EXTORTIONATE day rate for the car - £429 per day and I’m concerned they won’t pay for that.
The accident management company are called Easi-Drive
Is it worth calling the third party’s insurer and letting them know I will accept their hire car offer? Would they cover the costs of my 4 days with the current hire car?

An update - called easidrive up again, they’ve said the third party has definitely accepted liability for the accident and that I have nothing to worry about as they will claim costs from the third party insurer. Asked about repair time and they said possibly 2 weeks.
They also said that the £400 a day for the hire car has been quoted from an approved source that insurers all agre from (described it as though it’s a price for each car spec they all agree upon) and not their own quote? He was all very reassuring but still I don’t feel particularly comfortable.
Anyone else in a similar or have been in a similar situation before?0 -
Reece, £420 a day sounds very high. What sort of vehicle is it? You have to bear in mind that the Credit Hire company is quite happy for the claim to take a while. Who wouldn't at that daily rate? All I would advise is that if for any reason they aren't able to recover these costs from the TP then they are likely to come back to you and you've probably signed papers to that effect.0

is there anything one could have done ? would have going direct through your insurer, rather than through a accident management company be best?"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

It's a like for like replacement, my car is an Audi A5 and the car I was given is a BMW 4 Series.
I've heard that they always charge a ridiculous day-rate and hope the TP pay it without contesting it, then come to a much lower arrangement if they do contest it? I'll be calling the repair garage and the accident management company every day for updates, as of today they havent been quoted any repair costs (been in there since Tuesday, so 2 days).
Anyone reading this I'd recommend getting a replacement car through the TP insurer rather than the AMC (Accident management company) their insurer passes them onto.0 -

Problem with TP insurer is anything goes wrong you won't be able to complain as they are not your insurer? At least that was the consensus on here
only good thing going through TP is you don't lose your excess"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

Be aware that there is a chance the other Insurer may ask you to provide financial records eg credit card statements and bank statements. They do this to check whether you could have reasonably afforded to finance a normal hire car (At a massively lower daily rate) from your own finances.
This is more likely the higher the overall cost of the total credit card hire bill is0 -

Thanks for making me aware, a counter-argument for that would be that the car is the same spec as my Audi A5; why should I have a lower spec car than my own, due to an accident that is no fault of my own? Sure I can get down to the local supermarket in a 1L hatchback but I drive to client sites for work, I know it's materialistic but turning up in a Toyota Aygo isn't ideal for the type of clients I work with, as well as the distance covered :embarasse:undecided0 -
BMW 3 series. 2 weeks hire £318. £400 a day is simply extortion.0

This kind of behaviour is paid for by all of us in increased premiums0 -

Beyond rude pal you're a bell saying for that.
Maybe you've misunderstood the situation, someone has crashed into me, admitted fault, i've got a hire car as you'd expect. And you're giving me grief?
