Stuck - Switch in Progress

I started a switch in late June 2019 and the switch was successful in July 2019.

I'm now keen to explore if it's good to switch again...... BUT

I can't because my Cheap Energy Club account is stuck "Switch In Progress"

I have emailed energyclub@moneysavingexpert.com roughly 24hrs ago but as yet no reply and my account is still stuck.

Concerned i may miss an excellent opertunity to switch.

There is an option to "Cancel the switch", presumably this will free up my options to switch but will this create an as yet unknown problem.

Are you just trying to compare deals or actually initiate a switch?

If you currently blocked from doing either, then you could just create a new account, and at least use that to find out if there is anything worth switching to. I would guess that you could always use the new account to actually initiate a switch too (given that your switch is actually complete and it is just the CEC tool that is stuck).

You should also consider using other comparison sites, including the Citizens Advice site

    https://energycompare.citizensadvice.org.uk/

as these may show deal that the CEC doesn't. Even if CEC does show the deal you want, it may not support switching to that deal anyway.

I can compare deals but cannot actually initiate a switch because a switch is already in progress which completed months ago. Presumably you can't switch when a switch is in progress!!!! This presumably prevents someone from starting multipal switches within a defined timescale and not untill a switch started completes firstly..... This does make sense but somethings gone wrong somewhere.

It's not clear whether the deals offered are compared with my old energy supplier or my current supplier so it's difficult to establish if the deals offered are good or not. I could get out my calculator and work it out manually!

Initially i'd rather give MSE and the Cheap Energy Club a chance to resolve this glitch, another 24hrs!!

After which i'll explore other comparison sites and options.
