Why is my gas use so high?

Would a boiler engineer also check all the gas stuff is working or are they all separate? I can't seem to get my landlord to call a boiler engineer and it has to be thin, and sse wants to charge £35 for me to get someone to examine the metre. Could it be a gas leak if the boiler was off?
You should be provided with a gas safety certificate which will involve a leak test on the installation. It's a legal requirement that the landlord provides one annually.
If the meter is showing consumption when the boiler is off it would suggest a leak.0 -

The only legal requirement is a gas safety check.
What has to be thin?
Have you got evidence of a gas safety check?Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0 -

To my knowledge nothing else runs on gas, except heating and hot water. No shower, no nothing was used during that time.
The exact figures at 11:10 am versus 4:15pm:

Meters can be faulty, but you need to check all the other possibilities first. There have been several threads about this: here is one of them.

No he's not provided that. Is that the same thing you get when your boiler has been serviced? My boiler is overdue servicing by one week and my landlord has had a death in the family so he says he can't call the boiler engineer until he's back in town....
Unless that's a separate thing or the same to get the general gas safety check?0 -

Omg how do you turn the entire supply off???
Is that to check if it's a gas leak or?0 -
Do you think this order of things would be right?
1 - get landlord to get boiler engineer to check it
2- call gas engineer for gas safety check (will that cover all forms of gas in the flat including the boiler, any leaks, the thermostat?)
3-test meter again with boiler off
4- pay for meter test0 -
To turn gas supply off - go to your meter and follow the hose that comes out of the top. This will come to a flat bar with a red handle - that handle needs to be turned 90 degrees (1/4 turn). That is how you can test your meter.
EDIT: Gerry1 above has posted a photo
Given the size of your flat - while expensive - why not consider an electric fan heater? Yes they run at 3KW/hr on high (1.5KW/hr on low setting) - but they provide instant heat. They also come with a thermostat, so it's not running constantly.
Say it was running 6hrs on at high (that could mean a 12 hr period where it turns itself on and off).
So that's 18KW used at say 15p/KW (there are cheaper rates) = £2.70
The only thing you need your boiler for is Hot Water - or perhaps there is an electric immersion heater?
I'm not saying this is ideal - but it's not £11 a day !!!0
