Hi guys ,

Anyone out there have an ecology regular saver or easy access account? According to their website , direct debits are taken on the second working day of the month (i.e today). Nothing left either of my accounts today though , and I did get a letter back from them confirming DDs had been set up. Is it normal of them to delay taking it or should the money have been taken ?

No my direct debit has not gone out today.

But the November payment wasn’t collected until 5 November and the October payment not until 3rd – so it looks like they are actually taking the funds on the third working day of the month.

So no need to worry at this stage - but if the direct debit isn't taken by Thursday call them!

I’ve had an Ecology RS for more than a year. DDs never leave on 2nd. Earliest is 3rd, but often 4th or 5th. December’s went today 4th

I remember from my documents that the direct debit date is always the third business day of the month.
For January this will be on Monday 6th.

Is this about fairly recently set up accounts?

Direct debits have to have a notification period built in, about two weeks I think, so if your accounts are newer than that the first payment may be next month.
