Recently flew to Houston from Aberdeen via Schipol with KLM. It was a long flight and daughter was travelling with me. So I treated us both to comfort economy. Neither of our seats reclined. Busy flight. Not able to move seats. Cabin manager did a refund form for the £250.20 on board. Didn’t hear anything. Tried via social media to contact them. Tried complaints form. Got a not back saying sorry and mostly our crew can fix problems. They avoided the refund issue. So I also claimed via their online form. Still not heard anything or got any refund. Am I flogging a dead horse? Anyone know what to do next. Thanks

Contact your card provider and request a chargeback, for failure to supply the purchased product. Be ready to supply the evidence of your unsuccessful attempts to obtain redress from KLMEvolution, not revolution0

I assume £250 was the difference between economy and premium economy.
I had a similar experience flying back from Seoul with KLM, I fancied a better seat so also upgraded to premium economy. The entertainment system didn't work for the whole flight, or rather it only worked on every other row. So they kept rebooting it which seemed to take about 30 minutes, only for it still be faulty. After doing this a few times they gave up. On top of this when they came to serving the meal, they had run out of western food and and only had Korean food left, and I'm not a fan of kimchi.
Never occurred to me to try to claim back however...0 -
I doubt a chargeback would be succesful. You can't expect a full refund because your seat didn't recline.
It makes sleep very difficult or impossible, for me anyway, and tendency of the head to nod forward when starting to fall asleep is not only tortuous but can cause problems with neck vertebrae.
But the reason for failure of the OP's seats to recline is not given. I experienced it once on a Condor flight from Venezuela to Frankfurt, excruciating for nine hours. The flight attendant informed me in a Germanic manner that the row just doesn't recline because it's an emergency row, where I was seated as a favour by the check in agent, an acquaintance. I never found out how true that was, but I was distraught.Evolution, not revolution0 -
Why didn't your seats recline?0

I've been in seats with a bulkhead behind that wouldn't allow much if any recline.0
