I've been reading along and you're doing great! Just wanted to add that 2p piece will remove limescale. I used it on a very scaly sink at work and it was amazing!0

Thanks so much Chrystal for the hug, sometimes I just need one. Suffolk lass, I am over in Norfolk I wonder what percentage is recycled etc here. And thank you for the insight into how and where things are made! It’s such a minefield! At the moment i am just using up old cleaning products. I’m going to stop using fabric conditioner as I don’t need it and it’s an extra expense. How do you make your laundry gloop? We have to be super careful as all have very sensitive skin. We go through anti bac spray like there’s no tomorrow, OH has a massive OCD with wiping down the worktops, as in, I can do it and he will go and do it all again! I’m wondering whether white vinegar and water would work? I’m currently saving up all of my clear bags that can be recycled, I’m putting them in a little jar rather than the bin and will take them to Sainsbury’s to be recycled.
I need breakfast think I’ll have marmite on toast and another Vat of coffee. I’m working at 4-10 tonight. Let’s see what I can get done this morning!1 -
Hugs from me too x
You can see the 'league tables' of recycling here: it's for 17/18, the 18/19 ones are likely to be published soon as the national stats were recently announced.

This is stuff like cans and plastic bottles being recycled in our separate recycling bins. The energy from waste plant near here also extracts all the metals post burning and sends those for separation and all the ash is graded by size and reused in road construction or made into breeze blocks. The residual amount to landfill is just over 2% and these are not counted in these statistics.
By the ways missymoo81, 40% of Norfolk's domestic "landfill" waste is also processed at the Suffolk site. I do not know what they do with the other 60%. I also believe some of Essex send theirs to Rotterdam (currently, while we are in the EU) and pay for it to be processed there.
It is a many skinned onion, once you start to look! - I will search out the laundry gloop recipeSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

It is the recycling/composting results from statutory reporting and what is taken into account by national statistics. Incineration bottom ash is not included in English stats, though it is in the Welsh ones."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Thanks Suffolk lass and JWIL. Really helpful. I honestly don’t know what to do for the best with a lot of things.
So update wise, yesterday was a bit of a right off, ended up spending a lot of the day in tears as me and OH had the worst row ever. It’s still lingering today which is awful as we haven’t rowed for ages.
Managed to sort the children’s room, just need to make the beds. Spare room is now lost in stuff as we’re sorting the loft I have all the presents to wrap too there just isn’t room to do it! Just in the city today going to get some lunch if I can manage any.
So not the best couple of days, body is super sore from working out the past couple of days. Super tired from not eating enough too. My own fault I know. Need to just sort it out.1 -
read through to date,
good luck on journey, with debt etc.
can't say im one for doing much past putting things in recycling, as cash is king for me, and being "eco" usually involves extra expense (of course if there were 2 choices one eco and one not and the same price then eco would win, but at the mo, cash money is the focus).

Thanks DP yes some things are more expensive but some aren’t. Buying stuff individually like fruit and veg means I am wasting a lot less, and I’m buying bigger packs of meats as less plastic, then putting in Tupperware in the fridge until I need them. I’ve moved over to tinned cat food which is much cheaper and can be recycled.
Currently sorting out Xmas presents and seeing if Roo and May have the same amount! Roo seems to be a couple short!1 -
I always used to get new socks for DS - and actually, now you have said that, I will do so as a little stocking filler - he loves the feel of new socks and has done since he was a tot. I wonder if Roo would too?
And take a moment when you are both home to have a hug with your OH - who ever and what ever the row was about, an expression of love and affection will usually help. Today, I think a place I used to live is giving free hugs in the High Street (for Charity or just to make people feel better). A bit of human warmth always helps over here.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
