Well I will be able to make a small overpayment maybe around £50 this time but I was hopping to pay £240 so I could knock a month off and take my debt free date into 2022 it's currently Jan 2023.

My mortgage payment will be £45 a month less than what I am currently paying as I got a much better interest rate.

Well I've gone off the rails a bit this month spent more on food shopping than I normally would (mainly getting snacks and treats for my teenage son) ordered the blinds and bought some other miscellaneous bits. Ok so I've not gone over my budget or anything like that but it's a long time till pay day (15th) so I'm definitely not going to have any left over money to pay off my loan this month :( annoyed at myself a bit but also think I needed to relax the reins a little as I've been so super strict the last couple of months and managed quite a few over payments. Also my mortgage deal is nearly through so when that fully goes through it will save me about £45 a month which will be great for going off the loan.

In other news I have eaten so badly during lockdown and I've really let the exercise slip so I'm feeling really low with myself about all that too. I need to cut down on the snacking and start doing regular exercise DVD's or something! My gym membership has been paused during Lockdown and I'm in two minds whether to reinstate it or just cancel it when it re opens as it's £26 a month.

For the exercise just go out for a walk, or try the couch to 5k app, I listen to Dave Ramsey podcasts while jogging and its made me feel healthier, less tired and above all its free. It can be an important thinking time, 30 mins 3 times a week is all I do.

Well that's good maybe you could have that £45 per month to spend on whatever you want? That way you won't feel like you are missing out on making payments

Hi Andy, I used to run years ago but haven't got back into it. You are right though it is free!!! I love Dave Ramsey podcasts, those along with his YouTube Chanel and book are what gave me my lightbulb moment. In his words I was definitely sick and tired of being sick and tired!

    Hi @SSDD23
Thank you, it's been a bit of a whirlwind but the lockdown has allowed me to make a few overpayments.

    Hello 👋
well I have good news and bad news, the good news is my mortgage had completed so my new payment will save me £45 a month 😁 my old payment is due on the 1st of July but my new payment isn't due until the 16th (the day after pay day) so I'm not sure if my old payment will still come out on the 1st. If it doesn't I will have gained a mortgage payment as the old payment was budgeted for with last pay day, it would be good but I won't know until the 1st what will happen.

Now the bad news, my roof is damaged and I have a leak, no idea how much it's going to cost to repair so that's possibly my EF + wiped out and no change of any overpayments for a few months 😭 why is it in one hand out the other!!! So gutted!

In other money saving news, I have managed to build up £14 on prolific (hoping to make it up to £20 before 14th) and finally got up to £20 on shoppix. So will have £40 to hopefully pay towards the loan or the roof depending on cost.

Hi Poppy. How gutting about the roof. It may be something simple. Don't despair. It could be blocked guttering or a cracked tile. Ask around for recommendations and then get a quote. It may not be anywhere near as bad as you think

    Thank you @savingholmes
Im hopeful it won't cost too much but I really don't know at this point. Feeling rather low at the min but I think that's maybe work getting to me and just generally feeling tired and run down too :(
