Mortgage application using parent's address

They can "expect" all they like - it isn't a requirement. They'll also expect your address to be where you actually live, not just somewhere which can act as a post box for you.
https://www.gov.uk/tell-dvla-changed-addressYou do not need to tell us if you move temporarily (for example you’re living away at university) if we can still contact you at your permanent address.0 -
I agree with others although can't really talk as I did the same when I moved away from home! I was young and the place we moved to was only meant to be a temporary place to live until we could afford to buy. I did at very least though change my car insurance, as others have said your insurance might be invalid if they do not have your correct address.
You'll need to update your banks as you won't be able to apply for the mortgage otherwise. You can go into any branch with I.D and proof of address and they can do that for you easily.
I'd also recommend you get your car insurances updated. You should be able to do this online if you have an account set up or you can just phone them. With this, you will probably also need to get your driving licences updated too - again can be done online for free and i think you'll get replacements within a week.
There is no address printed on your passport do you should be ok with that but just double check on the .gov website.
All the other less important things could wait until you are in your new place to save you having to do all the updating twice.0 -
God this is a mess!
I know your intentions and maybe once upon a time fewer addresses was a good thing. Maybe you've listened to an older relative or read something random online. Fundamentally you have picked up an incorrect assumption somewhere and it's now a bit messy.
I see a lot of people with drivers licence still at parents address (only has to be a contactable address as per dvla rules) but haven't come across anything as extreme as this once you are married
A broker has 2 options here:
1. Match the application to the credit report. i.e key it as your parents address. This will cause the lender to pick up (presumably) other addresses on electoral register or utilities. Will get very messy as they dig around to find out why the application wasn't submitted honestly. Are you hiding something? Not saying you are but that is the lenders automatic assumption
2. Key the application as per your real life address changes. The application will ask for all addresses going back 3 years. With this information it should hopefully be enough to link to your credit report and pick up the rest of your credit. If it does then no issue really. This relies on them finding you via electoral register mainly. If they can't do this it's unlikely they will pick up any of your credit and you won't pass the score.
Neither are great options. I would just get a copy of your credit report and work through it updating each address. Make sure the electoral register is up to date as that's an auto decline for a couple of lenders.0 -
Some people thinking is laughable. If the OP is that daft to think that this is a good idea, maybe they shouldnt be buying a house, recipe for disaster! I'm glad for one they aren't a buyer I will have to deal with.0

OP, don't be discouraged, we all make mistakes. You are not the first to take advice online and screw things up for yourself for a mortgage (I've been there, and the reaction I got in this place was horrendous - it's a good thing I was on a throwaway username!). Unfortunately, while it's sort of true that address changes are bad for a credit history, you're now realising there's a bigger problem.
Go through and update absolutely every account and item once, to the new address. Pretend the other two previous addresses never existed, there's no point mentioning them anywhere.
This might ding your credit worthiness but it's not permanent and hopefully you'll be ok to apply for a mortgage in two months' time.0 -

I was replying to your comment about insurance, not the DVLA.0 -
Thank you to those offering genuine help and advice, we really appreciate it.
I am rather shocked and saddened by the harsh criticism and brutal judgement of others - shame on you.0 -
You've done something that is clearly illegal and calling people out for harsh criticism and brutal judgement?
So, let's count this one out....
Wrong address on driving licence (you've admitted that) - DVLA £1000 fine
Car insurance - void and DVLA £1000 fine plus 6 points
Electoral Roll Fraud - £1000 see here
Not changing banking address - not strictly illegal, but you're more likely to get fraud
Genuinely, I think people are trying to help you and explain why you should have done this. The smaller the monkey the more it looks like it would kill you at the first given opportunity.
