I'm a relative newby and so haven't experienced Advent comps before . I'm a bit confused as to why all the advent competitions are posted on the main board and people aren't posting into the specific advent thread. Is there a reason for that ?

I don't use any of them but the 3 Advent threads are just "extras" containing lists of links to the actual posts on the Main Board (I think 2 of them are ordered differently to each other and one only lists those worth £100 upwards).

I find this forum becomes unusable during December cause the pages are flooded with Advent threads where we don't know the prize, or in many cases even if there is a prize. The rest of the year it's strictly the end date and prize in the thread title but in December that goes out the window and we ave to click in every one and find the latest relevant post (made more difficult by bumping), which is particularly difficult for those who can't dedicate hours of their time here.

Wouldn't it be better to have an advent sub forum, similar to the Puzzler comps? And leave the main forum for its intended use?

If you use the thread display ordering by end date, all the advents are listed at the beginning, so easy to skip over if you CBA to enter them ;)
