  • Great that CCCS responded so quickly...only you know what is best! Personally I'd go for the DMP...let us know how you get on!

well the lady that I spoke to dealt with my bankruptcy (or helped me) last time.

I spoke to my boyfriend about this last night. He seemed a bit panic stricken. Funnily enough, what he was focusing on was the car - if he can't get any credit he can't get a new car when this one is knackered - he depends utterly on his car as he works for a train company and they are obviously not running when he has early or late shifts. Also the fact that he's looking at the next 8 years with a very stinky credit rating, it appears to be muddling this thinking.

He idly wondered if 'he should just see a money lender' - at which point I had to restrain myself.
  • You could go down the DMP. Once the debts are being sold off you as a third party could consider making full & final offers.

I think I would be inclinded to go the DMP route & see what heppens, you can stock pile your money seperate from his & possibly even move the house & mortgage into your sole name therefore protecting the asset.

You have the patient of a saint; was he serious....?! Obviously you're much closer to the situation and I don't know him at all, but I do wonder if he's really had his "lightbulb moment" as opposed to his "moment of shock and terror". I would insist he engages with the MSE process or takes a hike.
  • ...I meant "patience" of a saint, of course...

    :rotfl:

I think, in all honesty, he's like a small animal trapped in a corner and slowly the enormity of this dreadful situation is starting to sink in. And the far reaching consequences its going to have on his life.
