Alienware with desktop cpu, that should be faster

If you want that spec, pcspecialist would be cheaper.

That if you need to post on this board to ask for opinions about what laptop to purchase then this is an insane amount of money to spend on a laptop:

a desktop would be better. If your kid is saying that these are portable, well a 17" screen has difficulty in fitting in many bags, plus at least one is 4.7kg... 2 plus bags of sugar try carting that around with you all day plus a mouse and a psu.

That's way too much to spend on a laptop.
  • Hi

I do not want to upset anyone, but the laptop I have HP Envy 17in
it has served me well, so, I wanted more storage and power hopefully to last me.
I only play the seek and find games ( so nothing serious ) emails surf the net but to get the higher-spec they only come with gamers machines.
The laptop does not go anywhere just sits on the desk but do not want a tower too many wires for me

What do you mean by more storage and power ? Do you want a 17in screen or would you be happy with 15inch.
£2k for a lappy for your games is far too much , what is the spec of your current HP and why are you changing it?

Edit oh and I doubt you would upset anyone on here, we all like to save money for us and you.

£2K laptop for this... why? a £500 will do everything you need.

If you really want to spend that much just get a macbook.
