Until yesterday I was using a plugin fluorescent duo that I bought 45 years ago from Woolworths. Gave a very good light in the kitchen but one of the tubes failed after (after about 20 years) so I am trying a cool white 30w corn led bulb which I was using in my garage and cost me £2.99 no ebay.
30w corn bulbs are meant to be equivalent to 250w but the one I have is about 120w so I am buying a more expensive 35w version from ebay to see if its a bit brighter.
I don't think corn led are dimmable but you mentioned you had 15w led bulbs and 17w and even 23w versions are available but the 23w versions seem quite big.

Can you not get them replaced under warranty?:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Interesting replies everyone. But I still have not been able to find any dimmable led bulbs over 15w!
Yes I saw the 15w ones in Wilko but having already wasted my money on two 15w ones which are not bright enough I don't want to waste any more money.

Stop looking for Watts. Look for Lumens, and pay attention to the colour temperature too.

Most people know how bright a 40, 60 or 100 watt light is and it will be years before they know what the equivalent in lumens. They will probably know how bright a 5, 9, 12 watt LED is before then.

They will if they keep their heads in the sand, yes. Now is the time to change. Measure light with lumens, Watts is a measurement of power! Not all 10W LEDs will give out equal light!
