While far from the heady "old days" of this thread when I had a stash of a ludicrous size, I DO have quite an accumulation of body butters of various types that I'd like to get through.
My decision on the S&G set is from a position of logic - the mascara & lip gloss are my favourites, ditto the shower gel (and it's a mahoosive bottle that lasts for ages!) - the face wash & body scrub will get used and that alone makes it worth its money at the reduced price. The other bits are all added extras but in fact again I'll use the lot - however I do have duplicates of most (other than the hair mask) already in the stash so...
Currently in use:
No 7 Gel to Oil cleanser
S&G cleansing milk (Peaches & Clean)
Micellar Water (a Garnier one I think) *
Tresemme shampoo and conditioner - the HUGE bottles - these are a LONG way off finishing!
Moroccan Oil
Dove shower gel *
Body Shop Spiced apple bubble bath
Clinque Sparkle Skin Scrub - need to use this, not covet it for "best". (PRCP)
Body Shop Brazil Nut body butter **
Body shop peppermint candy cane handcream (home)
Molton Brown Orange 7 Bergamot handcream (Handbag)
Clinique Moisture Surge
* these are both on the way out - I have about half the shower gel left but that will go down quickly, and the micellar water probably has another month in it.
** I really don't like this - it was given to me as a gift and I'm just not loving the smell at ALL. That in turn of course means I don't use it. I think I may need to bite the bullet on this and just bin it.
I'm not going to list the full stash - it's kind of under control these days aside from the body butter mountain anyway - although that might change after christmas! :rotfl: Posting on here again should make me focus on using things up though!
Welcome back.

Welcome back. I think a lot of us OG Forumites are pretty well behaved now. For me, this is the place for a good chat about various products and I’ve learnt a lot. Also love that none of us are judgmental. We all still make purchases but it seems that these are always considered.
Hi Val - yes, I remember you from last time! The non judgemental thing was most definitely a founding principle of the thread wasn't it - so lovely!
Welcome back.

I've pretty much accepted that at my pricepoint I'm rarely going to be able to go fully plastic free, but something I have tried to put into place over the past few years is to try to find the products I love, and then buy in larger sizes where they are available - so for example the Tresemme shampoo & conditioner are HG's and come in massive bottles, similarly the S&G shower gel - which is coming as part of the set this year - is a 500ml bottle rather than the smaller ones you so often get. I was also pleased to see that S&G have stopped automatically putting the plastic mesh body polisher thing into the christmas set - I never use them and am running out of people to give them away to! :rotfl:
Rejoining here has already had a positive effect as I made a conscious effort to go and grab a S&G Scrub of Your Life from the stash this morning to put into use - the Clinique scrub is my HG (one of those products that is pricey but you don't mind paying!) but the S&G one comes a close second and is nicer for use first thing in the morning as the Clinque one has menthol in it so is quite "tingly". I'm going to bin my ancient set of scrubby gloves I think in favour of working through that tube, I have a new pair of gloves in the stash ready to put into use when needed anyway!
I'm also remembering to use handcream - I always end up with sore hands at this time of year so this year I'm determined to use the cream in advance rather than letting them get to that stage!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

IN from calendar today : mini lipgloss called Everything. I'm wearing it today and to me it looks a pinky mauve. In fact, all the ones I have from BM look pinky mauve! On their website it looks peachy! At least I didn't buy a full sized.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. Two UUs from last night:
Hada Labo Goku-Jyun Hyaluronic Cleansing Foam 100g WMBA in the future. A nice, cheap second cleanse. Not irritating or drying at all for a cleanser that foams up.
La Roche Posay Cicaplast Levres Lip Balm 7.5ml WDBA. Love this, one of my HG lip balms.
One IN from today:
Soap and Glory Sunshield Superfluid SPF50+ 30ml Emergency purchase. Just to keep me going until I can order more of my current SPF or find a new one to try. Only SPF50 for faces that I could find in Boots though0 -
uu
Philosophy Sweet Fluffy Cupcake Shower Gel 480ml - this was very thick and hard to squeeze out of the bottle, other than that it was lovely and worked well as shampoo too.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

In from calendar Lash Domination mascara. Think I will use one of the new mascaras from tomorrow as the Hourglass one is drying out.
UU E45 Cream. I won’t repurchase this. I preferred the Nourishing one but they must have discontinued it.
Pulled our Soap and Glory Clean Girls shower gel today.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Hi.
This week I have made good progress on lots of items.
The only thing not touched this month yet has been the foot butter and my feet are dry...Why have I not? Anyway some things nearing an end now and will have a few UU's this week coming.
I've gone through my stash this morning and got some TA and GA
GA: Nivea and Avon mini bottles of Micellar
Coconut body butter from M and S advent calendar because I don't like butter or coconut. To Daughter.
Champneys and Lacura hand cream that I will take to work and leave in the toilets there. Although both are good creams, I don't like the smell of either.
TA: Soap and Glory face scrub, half a mini Molton brown shower gel.
I couldn't make my mind up about destashing boots facial oil or a shower gel and body lotion: Sunflowers by Estee Lauder. So I have kept them for now.
I have lots of advent calendar ins as well as December Birch Box. This means I now have quite a few different face creams and masks.
I'm beginning to think of next year and I am planning a low buy year. Which for me will mean only buying to replace. I will be doing this for all cosmetics and toiletries as well as physical and kindle books. I don't have enough physical books to last the year but I do have enough on my Kindle.
I know I have enough shower gel, face serum, nail polish, makeup, perfume, face masks, micellar, toner and body lotion and probably face cream to last the whole of next year! I will do a full stash list for January.
I really want to know exactly how many mls of products I use so I can make better estimates.
Well done everyone who has dodged sales. I had one NBI last weekend. I tried the Christmas edition Pear handcream in Bodyshop. I am proud to say that I didn't go back in to buy anything. However, if they had had a pump bottle of lotion it would have been a different story.0 -

I was looking at my stashlist from January and numbers so far this year and I feel so proud of myself. Going to have a declutter before January and keep being accountable on here.0 -
I am going to do a no buy/low buy too. Even though I feel like I have pretty much cracked beauty and skincare stuff, I am really addicted to purchasing stationery - if I feel stressed I am great at justifying a new notebook as being 'the one that helps me sort my life out' Books are another one for me too.

This could be me toohave been really good with no purchases (In fact can't remember the last toiletry purchase I made) but can be swayed by a nice notebook. Was in Poundland this week looking or a diary (rubbish selection but found slimline diary and calendar for £1 in Home Bragains
) and they had nice notebooks so picked up a coupe and then put them back down and walked out the store. Result!
Life is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.
Take time but don't waste time0
