Hi everyone
My question is...my husband has left me. I want to divorce him. I work full time (£1276 per month after tax) plus universal credit, child benefit and whatever maintenance he decides to pay (not confirmed yet). We have two children under 8.
My question is, it’s £550 to divorce someone, do I get any help with this ?
He left me, but hasn’t mentioned divorce yet but to be honest I just want it sorting but need to know re money.
Thanks

I applied for help. I think I paid £165 in the end. You can put an option for him to pay half but not sure how that works as I just swallowed what I could as he didn't want the divorce despite his causing the marriage to break down.
I would fill the forms and apply for the help. you will have four weeks to pay once the approve (or not) the application and so no money needed now. you will have to supply proof of income/benefits etc but although I was on a little less than you at the time of divorce application, it wasn't much difference
good luck and I am sorry that you are going through all this. It does get better. xProud to be Member of BSC #92Hoping to get debt free again :wall::heart2: working hard to make my daughters proud :heart2:0 -
