Virgin mobile texts not sending

Is anyone having any trouble with virgin mobile at the moment?
I've been trying to send texts to Australia for over a week with no success.
I've spoken to a lovely man in a call centre in the Philippines who informed me a lot of people are having this problem but they dont know why, try typing in the number manually, this didnt work.
I started a thread in virgin community and eventually after a lot of to and fro an agent agreed to send me out a replacement sim. This didnt work.
I'm on contract, I send text messages to Australia weekly as all my family live there. I cant understand why this sudden issue.
I'm close to cancelling contract and going with another provider
Anyone having similar issues? Or any suggestions on how I can get virgin to escalate this problem

These problems tend to have nothing to do with the UK network, but with mechanism that routes the messages around the world after your network has handed it off.
Virgin or any UK network can't do much directly apart from logging the problem and waiting for info.
Have you tried getting someone not on Virgin to text Oz to see if it's just them or a wider issue?0 -

Keep pestering Virgin then. The team that sorts this out isn't what they call 'Customer Facing' but the front line guys can send them messages so it's fresh in their minds. . .0
