Thank you
Looking back, my first OP was ... £40! ... in August 2008, and I only managed to overpay £2,898 in my first five years of my mortgage, so it's not like I was overpaying big lumps when I started. But it was enough to get the snowball rolling.
I then joined MSE at the end of 2011, found this board, paid at least something each month since 2013 (I missed a few months in 2012 when some building work ran over budget), and bit by bit the OP's have grown and the mortgage has shrunk away to nothing. It's a long slog, but it becomes second nature fairly quickly.3 -
#123 First ever overpayment wish I had started 5 years ago when I originally got my mortgage!
