Suffolk_lass said:#37 reporting £95.79 for September please. We think we might pay off the mortgage completely next month as we have a bond with the same BS that matures in October and is rather surprisingly, more than the outstanding mortgageMFWB#2

#150 checking in after a long absence and nothing paid off yet. We've had the house a little over 2 months now, so it has been great to see two payments go out and know that we have paid around £1800 off the principal. We are definitely getting the garden done this year, which will mean dipping into the savings and cashing in the premium bonds. Spending out on the house and now the garden feels like it goes against all the money saving we've done over the past years. But it feels the right thing to do. I need to get a wiggle on and get online mortgage access sorted - I know once I can actually see the amounts getting paid off, it will give me the motivation to do a round up - even a few pounds a month.
Well done Suffolk_lass, I remember being in that position with our loan and credit card debt and it was a good feeling, it must be amazing to be paying off your mortgage. I will get there one day"Think of many things, do one"

Hi there!
#30
finally I am able to make an OP after 2 months of saving. I had to save a lump sum of at least £500 to be able to choose to reduce the term instead of the future monthly payments.
So, today's OP is £615.50 for me, which also helps to jump over the £20K of my Current Total OPs!!! It's just amazing feeling that I have the mortgage balance less by £20K than it should be... I am really glad I started to overpay the mortgage 5 years ago!
Thanks Julicorn as usual!!!
