decent small smart phone?
I currently have an old iPhone 5S that is dying so was looking at replacing it. I had always planned to buy an iPhone SE when it dies as I do like my 5S as its nice and compact and sturdy but the SE is not exactly new.
So what is a good but not massive phone? im not tied to Apple and am keen on one of the lesser brands like Xiaomi, onePlus etc.. but im not really a tech guy so it all goes over my head a bit. I do know that I want good storage.
thanks in advance for any advice.

The Samsung Galaxy s10e is nice and slim and can be used one handed but still has a 5.8 inch screen.
If you want to stick with Apple then the 8 is a good bet and a bit smaller than the newer X/Xs and a lot smaller than the Xr and 11.
The SE is still decent and on the latest OS till at least next September so you could pick up a used one for around £100 and run it for a few years.0 -
im just not a fan of buying used phones. people sit on the toilet playing on them and stuff.0

The problem you are going to have is getting a new "small" phone. Nowadays a 5.5 inch screen is considered small whereas of the two brands you mention, 6 inches is almost a starting point in terms of size.
There are still some brand new iPhone se models around but you are looking at £250 plus for one of those.
Giffgaff have some good refurbished phones and I would happily buy one from them if price is an issue.0 -
thanks, guess im just having to give up on small phones. price isn't really an issue as I will get good usage out of it.0

4.5" screen size, they don't really get any smaller as a smartphone, below this size they tend to fall into "dumb phone"/2G territory, the trend seems to have become for larger screens for smartphones. You can shove an SD card in this Android phone up to 128Gb, format as internal storage.
The next generation Apple will have bigger screens, 6.7" apparently.0 -
i know that people want massive phones because they are basically Computers/Televisions. its just they are getting ridiculous, its like sticking an ipad in your pocket. maybe im just old enough to remember when they were all in a race to make the smallest phone.
if it wasn't £1500 id be tempted by the new Razr by Motorola. i don't mind spending £500 if needed as i tend to just get sim only deals.
so what would be the best phone out now that is about 6" for £500 max, for someone with no brand loyalty.0 -
Have you tried kimovil website? You can specify price, screen size, memory... Personally, I am big fan of Xiaomi phones. Great specs for the fraction of price of iPhone, Samsung etc. In fact I'm replacing Redmi 3S with 9 SE this year.0
