RAC Warranty - what to do

Hello everyone!
Last June I bought a used car and with It also a 3-year warranty + breakdown cover with RAC & The Warranty Group (TWG).
Last week I had a problem with the car and after using the breakdown cover, RAC sent someone to looo at the car and found the issue, also saying that it is covered by the warranty.
I have contacted a garage who then raised the claim with RAC to get the repair authorised - the garage then called me saying that it has been authorised but I will need to pay upfront and then get the money back from RAC/TWG.
My questions are:
1) How "easy" is it to get money back from them? I found the Word document on their website to fill and send back to them, is there anything specific I need to look out for? Among other things, they are asking for the name of the person who inspected the car but I don't have his name, is this really needed?
2) Is the garage allowed to ask me to pay for this and claim the money from RAC? Can I demand for them to deal with this? As I've already paid for the warranty, if possible I would like to avoid paying anything if I can.
3) Let's say I go ahead with the garage and pay upfront, is there anything I need to ask for "proof" just in case I will need it in the future? Apart proof of payment of course.
Any other advice you might have would be really appreciated!
Thanks you!:)

What do the T&Cs of the warranty say? Do they confirm that you pay and recoup from the warranty company?

As above - it will depend entirely upon the T&Cs of your warranty. Have you read those?0

There is a section called "Reimbursement" that says:
"Under some sections, you may need to pay for the service up front and claim this back from the RAC. To do so, please visit *website*. If you have any queries please contact *bla-bla*. Please send your completed claim form with proof of payment to Customer Care"
I can't see anything else regarding this in the T&C's, so I'm not really sure what do they mean with "under some sections". Also, the reason given to me by the garage is "if we ask for the money to RAC/TWG it could take months".
So that's why I'm checking here, just to see if 1) it's supposed to be like this 2) the garage can demand this 3) and if the RAC/TWG are a mess to deal with and if I need to be aware of anything.0 -

Looks like you have found what you need ^0 -
Yeah but that's only a part of what I would like to know, as the other questions are more based on people's direct experience with them or this "case"0

Get lots of photos of the work being done; not easy I know. My friend's valid claim under an AA warranty was rejected as there was no photos of the work being done; parts being changed etc. They only asked for this after the job had been completed!0

The garage would be absolutely insane to do any work and then wait for the warranty to pay out
I would show you the door if you came demanding that I do work and you don't want to pay0 -

I imagine the garage are not bound by the RAC,s terms and conditions before they agree to repair the car and how it is paid for.0
