What paint to seal plaster

  • Most of them, if you choose their basic emulsion (Dulux etc). I use Armstead Contract Matt White (same make as Dulux) as it's cheaper. I water it down with only 10% of water, others may dilute it more but I find that's just enough.


    The pot even says "ideal for new plaster" on it :D
    How much is armstead. I know dulux is a different brand to leyland but leyland did a video on youtube about people using contract wrong as it's only purpose is for new builds with new plaster so they can get a coating on. They mention that contract matt is chalky so when you put a top coat on the paint only sticks to the chalky substance. The link rach_k posted he did a video where he repaired paint that pulled off the wall and I'm thinking it pulled off because the 50/50 ratio he used was to weak or because he used contract matt.
