HTB applied for before deadline

I recently applied for a HTB ISA with NatWest via their online application form.
Once all filled out there was a little statement that this account has been sort of "conditionally" agreed and that I will receive an email requesting more information (likely proof of address etc.).
This was a few days ago and I have received no email yet. Does anybody know, does the account need to be actually open before the deadline or is the application enough? Because at this rate I do not believe I will have an open account before then.

My letter states 'your application will be kept open for 28 days' I applied online on the 20th, received the letter on the 25th, went into Natwest on the 26th with ID. Received a text message to say all set up on the 28th. Never had any emails and I'm now waiting on the details so that I can deposit some money.0
