Purchased bed

Options
Dear All

I purchased a childrens bed online through mrsflatpack.co.uk/lifestyle-childrens-high-sleeper--white-999-p.asp

There is a image with all of the dimensions of the bed but I feel like I have been missled in to buying this bed as they have recommended this bed for ages 6-12 which is total BULL5h1t - unless it said for sleeping only .
My son is 5 and for using the desk he will soon hit his head on the top front panel of the bed and by the time he is 7 his face will be above the front panel meaning the desk will be useless for him. I dont want my son to bend his back and sit as low as possbile so his head doesnt catch the bottom of the front panel ...i feel like they have used a special technique to misslead customers and give them the wrong recommended age and then if any problem blame the customer saying that there is an image with all the dimensions of the bed..
What are my right is there anything i can do to recieve a refund ???

Thanks

Do the dimensions mentioned match that of the product you recieved?

You can't go by the "recommended" age, as children of different ages are of different sizes.

How long ago did you purchase the bed and when did you recieve it? It's clearly not faulty, so all depends on this question.

Looking at the picture the bed may be suitable for up to 12 years . But no way would a 12 year old use the desk .
  • Exactly this is my problem i will check dimensions when home but is there anyway i can fight back?

You could start by answering this question - How long ago did you purchase the bed and when did you recieve it?

Fight back against what exactly .
Advert reads to me as BED suitable for xx
Dimensions for desktop are included .

"Fight back" is a bit dramatic. I can't see anything misleading about the advertisement. The bed is clearly suitable for a 6-12 year old. In fact, as a six foot tall adult, I could comfortably fit in it. It makes no claims about the headroom available for the desk.

However, powerful_Rogue's twice-asked question is very relevant. If you bought this online within the last 14 days and didn't try it out in the retailer's store (if they have one) beforehand, you may be able to return it for a full refund provided you haven't handled it beyond what was necessary to check its suitability. If you've assembled it, chucked the packaging and slept in it, for example, they probably wouldn't accept a return.

as above if the dimensions are the same as on the ad and you have built and used the bed, then I dont see anything to fight about
  • Sounds like total b0l0x sorry to be rude but it should say recomended age for sleeping 6-12 not just recomended age as there is no mention about the desk being so low other than some stupid measurements. I guess it will be a lesson for me not to purchase from usless websites such as mrstlatpack

    I dont agree

the measurements are the most important part.

not sure how you can say the desk measurements are stupid, uless they are dofferent on the bed you got

kids are all different sizes and pics are useless without measurements

Average Height to Weight Ratio for Male Children (2 to 12 Years)
    6 yrs 45.5 lb (20.6 kg) 45.5" (115.5 cm)
    12 yrs 88.0 lb (39.9 kg) 58.7" (149.1 cm)
    @9 yrs 63.0 lb (28.6 kg) 52.5" (133.3 cm)
Which stood up is putting the eyes around the top level.

What will make more difference is the height of the chair used.

You say your son will soon hit his head on the top front panel
5 yrs 40.5 lb (18.4 kg) 43.0" (109.2 cm) Height of top front panel is 101.5
All we can take from that is your son is well above average height for his age. Given how much height you lose when sitting down. I lose over 1 foot when sitting down.
