Coupon-mad thanks for the image of the excel car park that’s really helpful. The passenger was being dropped off for an event at the excel, wasn’t even aware this was a car park for the Aloft so didn’t appeal to them, just appealed to ParkingEye, they rejected this and now onto POPLA.0

Yes the car park was on Sandstone Lane from the image of excel you sent, no clear signage at the entrance at all0

Can’t upload images of the car park and entrance I found on google maps street view0

Still doesn’t allow me to post the link, but the one you sent is the correct one, if you follow it around you can see the entrance of the car park, no where does it says it’s Alofts car park, parking eye car park, another car park at the entrance, all it says is : Tariff payable at machine or phone. In big writing nothing else visible from a car, or on google maps street view0

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP after the election, or to all likely candidates now, it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and often, if they know an MP is in the loop, they will cancel the charge..
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0
