Help to buy ISA

Re Help to buy ISAs. I have 2 sons of 30 & 27. The elder has lived & worked in Germany for 6 years whilst the other is unemployed, living in the uk. Should I (or they) take out a help to buy ISA or a LISA for each of them? Neither intend to buy property in the next year.

If the elder lives in Germany then he isn't eligible for any ISA, unless he's a Crown employee.
The UK-resident younger can open one but would need to do so himself. Employment status shouldn't be an issue for a savings account....0 -
Many thanks for reply. The elder one teaches in a private school, but still has full British citizenship, though who knows where he'll be after Brexit!
Re the younger son, I'll get him to open one - presume the help to buy one is best for him.0 -
I have already have a mortgage with my husband, can I still get a Help To Buy ISA?
Would I be classed as a First Time Buyer?0
