Parking Charge Notice

Hi there,

I noticed a parking charge notice on my car after leaving it on a side road on an industrial park. I believe it to be unfair because on the side of the road i was parked, there are no road markings whatever despite having many signs on both sides of the road saying that a penalty charge would apply to parking. The other side of the road has double yellow lines which made me believe the signs referred to parking along the one side with markings.

It is from a company called MJB Security Services ltd. with address 21A George Street, Croydon. However it doesn't have a website and even the link provided on the ticket takes you to a page that doesn't exist. It provides a webpage for appeals as well which takes you to a company called MJB Group. I haven't been able to find these on either the BPA or IPC websites. Does anyone on here know if they are registered with one of the associations and any advice on how to proceed?

Any help would be gratefully received,

Thanks

Read the answer to this question in post #1 of the NEWBIES thread:
Q - ''I got a windscreen PCN, I've checked the BPA & IPC lists of AOS members but can't find the company''
  • Thanks, I did read that but was just trying to confirm that I was correct in what I had researched about them not being members of those organisations
  • Is the best advice in this case to not respond in any way?

MJB Security Services Ltd are not AOS members of either of the two AOS schemes.

Neither were MJB SECURITY SOLUTIONS LTD of the same address that were wound up earlier this year.

Did you really read the answer I directed you towards earlier?
You said you did in post #3.
  • Thank you for the reassurance. I only meant that since it says do not appeal, that also means do not respond to say I wouldn't be paying. This is the advice that it gives somewhere on the money saving expert main site which is why I mention it

Somebody else will be along shortly to tell you how wrong the MSE advice is.

MSE have been advised about their mistakes, but unfortunately have chosen not to correct their errors.

You won't go wrong by following the guidance in the NEWBIES thread.
  • Keith, thank you very much. A last question from me. If they do manage to find how to contact me what would you do in that case?

I would be complaining to the DVLA.

I would also be sending a Subject Access Request to the DVLA asking who exactly had asked for the Registered Keeper's details.

But no need to worry about that until it happens - post again on this thread if it does.
  • Thanks again, Keith. I shall do that.
