Has anyone else just noticed that Rental Cars have just bumped their prices up by £300+? Literally was £300 cheaper this morning. What do we reckon? Are they bumping them up so the discount for black Friday seems bigger?
I just checked Alamobrits for a rental next year, its the same price today as it has been for past few weeks0 -

Book through Autoeurope. You have to pay upfront, but you can cancel up to 48 hours before pickup. More importantly you can "modify" your booking as often as you want if/ when the price drops and they credit your card with the difference. My record was modifying my booking 11 times for a 9 day hire in Spain earlier this year - took it from £250+ to £88 for the same car and same hire company (Dollar). The prices can change a couple of times a day so I check the prices at least twice a week.0 -

Oddly, the Budget UK website(to qualify for cashback perhaps) doesn't offer a chance to book online if you are under 30;
Don't understand why, since there is no surcharge for over 25 years old.It also doesn't mention Third Party Liability cover, though that should be included. Maybe worth a call for clarification. But of course you would want to complete the booking online, in order to qualify for cashback.
I would guess between 8% & 9% cashback with Quidco/TopCashBack, on the £708.29 paid(£56 off that price with 8% cashback). US$65 for the additional driver would be paid on location, if using that booking site.
Though not sure how you will bypass their annoying website age restriction.
US$65(£50) is the max price for the additional driver. So no need to be swayed by anyone offering a free additional driver, if it means you are going to be paying over the odds anyway.0 -
Look at picking up the car at a non airport location. A$10 Uber Ride can save hundreds, and even with airport locations you usually have to wait for a shuttle bus and then wait in a queue, so often off airport is just as quick as well as significantly cheaper.Save £12k in 2019 #360

They are usually competitive and offer free cancellations. Well used by Brits going to Orlando and highly recommended. But cover all US not just Florida, so do not be fooled by name.0 -

I'd never heard of these people before, but it looks cheaper!We've emailed them to query if the price includes the one way drop off charge. Thanks for the recommendation!

What is excluded(a) all charges and taxes payable directly to the car rental supplier on collection of your vehicle and which include, without limitation, fuel, special request items (such as roof racks and child/baby seats), any additional drivers and/or young driver surcharges, and any local charges for delivery and collection out of hours or one way airport fees, as these vary according to the location of the collection point. We will advise you of additional charges and taxes when you make your booking;
(b) our optional extras, such as Maxi Control, Maxi Fun and Where2 GPS Navigation which are priced separately at a daily or weekly rate on our website; and
(c) any insurance not included above.

Have you booked your flights yet?
I find booking BA flights + car (Avis) works out cheaper than booking separately. That includes luggage and a second driver. This is booked on the BA website.
I've booked a BA flight + car before that's involved picking up in one airport and dropping off at another without problem.
Edit: A quick price up based on 20 days (May 2nd to May 22nd) shows you can get BA flights plus car for around £1,460 total (£730pp).0 -
