welcome OP to being talked down to in the motoring forum.
Shouldn't your post read "Welcome OP to the getting offended on behalf of others forum"? as I don't see the OP getting talked down at all, in fact, the OP seems to appreciate all of the advice being given:Helpmelord wrote: »Hi guys thanks for all the feedback really appreciate this.
and you seem to be the only person who thinks that anyone is being talked down to.0 -

I've looked at the post in question and still can't see any "talking down", simply someone saying that with the limited information given so far, it's impossible to say if £600 is a fair price and also asking a few more questions.nah read the post prior to my lastWe have no idea, since we know no more than it's an old TT with no ticket and a few issues.
What would it fetch with a new ticket?
How much would it cost to put a ticket on it?
How much do you value a small amount of hassle?
£600 would be a fair price if the car would sell for £1000 with a new MOT and it would cost £400 to get that MOT.
However, selling it for £600 would be on the low side if it would only cost £150 to £200 to get it MOT'd as the new buyer would end up with a car valued at £1000 for a total outlay of £750 to £800.0 -
Any chance of you posting a link to the auction?0

£600 wouldn't be on the low side though would it? The buyer has a fair degree of risk involved. As I said earlier in this thread the seller needs to have realistic expectations. The purchaser needs some reward for taking that risk. £200 is not much of a reward.shaun_from_Africa wrote: »I've looked at the post in question and still can't see any "talking down", simply someone saying that with the limited information given so far, it's impossible to say if £600 is a fair price and also asking a few more questions.

We know the cost of the mechanical jobs, Minimal.
We don't know the cost of the electronic issue. Could be minimal, could be substantial, depends on the fault codes.
We don't know what the car would be worth with a new ticket - if it'd be a couple of grands' worth, then it's worth the hassle. If it's a sub-grand shed on a good day, then £600 as-is is a no-brainer.
But, right now, all we know is that it's a TT with no ticket.0 -

I dont want to fix it myself because I'm moving onto another car now. It was a great first car but I'd rather someone else picked it up and fixed it up.
I've listed it on ebay, facebook and gumtree, my highest offer is £600 at the moment, customer organises trailering. What do you guys think?
So far I've had lots of interest from enthusiasts
If only we'd known that to start with.0
