HP Desktop hard drive failure UPDATE

So are you saying I would need to have access to another Windows 10 computer to do this? I have access to a mac, but not another Win10.
Take your 8gb usb and visit a friend.... bring wine
The other way is the old DVD method, but this method is far better, as you get the newest version of 10.
Why is your old one running out of space, what do you do to fill it?0 -
Is window 10 downloaded via the method above onto USB drive free? Would I be able to get window 10 pro via this method? Thanks0

Add a few files, pictures, etc... you might reach 60GB, but close to 200GB is an awful lot of space to fill. You really need to look to economise on space, if for no other reason than backups are quicker and take up less space. 250GB of space used is either a lot of video footage or you have never cleared temporary files...
You can download the Windows “iso” file on a Mac or Linux machine.
250GB is on my MacBook Air, which I've had from 2013. Earlier this year when I wanted to upgrade to Mojave, I spent ages going through it deleting things such as cache, temp files etc as it wouldn't let me install Mojave until I had done that. I have a lot more free space now with Mojave and no longer get messages about running out of space.
I've checked today, and it says I have 27.76GB available of 121.12GB. I'm not sure what's happened to the rest of the GB as I though it was 250GB in total.
The storage analysis is as follows:
Apps 8.24GB
Docs 27.07GB (most of these are on Dropbox)
iTunes 6.28GB
System 30.68GB
Mail 1.6GB
Music creation (I have no idea what this is) 1.27GB.
I have the same Dropbox stuff on my Win10 desktop, as well as iTunes.
Anyway, my Mac is working fine for the moment.:)0 -

You'll need a USB Flash drive of at least 8GB in capacity.
In addition, it would be helpful if you mentioned the exact model number of the HP PC0 -

So if I use the method in post 8 above, will I need to pay? If so, how much?0

if you have 7Pro, you get 10Pro,
I would read the SMALL PRINT (tiny print on the screen) as they would like an email address form you etc - just SKIP.
Once installed you may want to run SHUTUP10, but there are probably some other hidden or new bits you want to switch off (I found some). No, this has nothing to do with activation.0 -

OK, I have an 8GB flash memory stick and have downloaded the stuff as per post no 8 above.
I'm still confused about whether I will need to pay for Win 10 at some point, as the above responses are not clear to me.
The original computer came with Win 7, and this updated itself without my involvement at some point when Win 10 was free to update Win 7 computers.
Will I be able to use the stuff I have on the memory stick without paying?0
