Transferring mobile account to someone else

Can you tranfer an account and number to another person's name. I've a monthly contract with Smarty; I paid for it but another family member uses it and wants to be the account holder.



Some phone services seem happy to allow this ( and call it Changing of Possession) but I can't seem to find how to do this with Smarty; thier website's not giving any clue.


Anybody managed this before?

Call them and ask. It's not a simple procedure as it involves 3 parties, not 2, and, possibly a credit check.

Contacted them and they got back as soon as they could.

Can't be done. Some services can (Vodafone for example) but not Smarty.

Thinking I may have to move to a different service and transfer back.


Smarty don't need credit checks as payment is in advance.
