I wouldn’t like to be Boris if he breaks this promise
All those people who voted for him because of the pledge of 30% discount on a new property will want his guts for gartersNothing has been fixed since 2008, it was just pushed into the future0 -
Nothing will happen to Boris, you're delusional. He's proven to be made of teflon. Also most people are not even aware of this or even care. There's been zero to little coverage of this.0

He might not break the promise but you still might not get anywhere near what you expect.
For example the IR35 review was expected by most people to be a review of the legislation and its proven to be a consultation of the implementation and not what people expected.
The tories will claim they’ve met their election promise and technically they have.
Don’t bother threatening civil unrest, that would be the same as extinction rebellion. Headline news for a few days and many people ruining their future careers by getting a criminal record. You do realise this could stop you getting a mortgage and career??
My guess is you’ll get 30% off an inflated RRP on very few properties and there will be restrictive criteria on who can have them e.g. key workers. The government will meet their promise but hardly anyone will get what they want.
The majority voted on brexit or against a left wing labour government and this wasn’t even in the mainstream news.0 -
Yes so where are the details
No more info since the pledgeThe thing about chaos is, it's fair.0 -

You are some way down a long queue.
We have major issues going on right now with
Brexit
Global health emergency - Coronavirus
Very late budget causing massive uncertainty for a 6 figure number of freelancers and their end clients (IR35)
As well as the usual issues e.g. social care and nhs on its knees.
This may be high priority for you but it’s quite low priority and not urgent for the nation as a whole.
Go out and earn what you want or compromise rather than waiting for a windfall.0 -

This discount of course only applies to new builds and will apparently be funded by exempting developers from paying community infrastructure and other planning levies to local councils - which will mean there is less money to fund the new roads, buses, GP surgeries, school places and general infrastructure needed to support new homes.
Perhaps the first time buyers benefitting should be barred from using those services - as everyone else will have to pay for them instead to fund their benefit.
In many areas of course new builds are often way more expensive already due to help to buy etc and general developers taking the p - so a 30% discount may of course mean you still pay more than a second hand better built home locally. And is before factoring in you will probably be placed in the cheaper social housing part of the development or block - with all the council tenants living in simlar homes for next to nothing or even free - enjoy!! In London you can always spot the affordable housing block - nearest the noisy main road, no or few balconies, limited or no access to the concierge and other communal facilities.....0
