Hi,
How does Santander allocate sort codes are they attached to branches or just random?
Do Santander ISAs such as EISA and Isa saver have sort codes attached?

Because Santander bought into the UK market by taking over Alliance & Leicester, Bradford & Bingley and Abby National, they have therefore inherited a whole host of sort code numbers.
As a general rule these days the sort code just identifies who the account is with, the concept of branch level has sort of gone out the window to an extent as everything is centralised.0 -
Do Santander ISAs usually have sort codes attached?0

Well unless you know another way of paying into it without a sort code and account number I think it should be safe to assume that they do have them?
You should normally get all the documentation when you open the account as to how to fund it.0 -

Does it matter?
Santander wrote in a tweet in 2017:Our sort codes are not linked to branches
09-00-xx to 09-19-xx is allocated to Santander, with a large chunk of 09-01-4x being former Alliance & Leicester codes. But there are 643 codes allocated to Santander:

but my esavers are 09-01-28 .
however the regular saver doesn't have a sort code at all, just a 12 character alphanumeric.
(and my cahoot a/c is 09-06-40)
