Does the jack plug you've got not look like it would fit in the first plug top I linked too, obviously you would need to check compatibility, voltage etc ?

Buying new lights is probably safer than guessing, and possibly cheaper than the transformer alone.

I'm puzzled about which bit you're missing, as you're showing a plug next to the black box in your photo. Can you draw a sketch of the whole circuit (lights to box to plug to bit that plugs into the wall) and highlight the bit that is missing?

There is the black box a long wire plug bit is on the end of the long wire joined to the black box. We need something to plug that plug into with a proper plug for the wall socket on the other end.

Sorry if I'm confusing everyone. I'm confusing myself too - I thought it would be so easy lol!

Yes Ian it looks very similar to that one will check the voltage etc.

Hubby has just found the old plug when he's had his cuppa he will check it. lol
  • Hi,

We need something to plug that plug into with a proper plug for the wall socket on the other end.

awe jings, why did you not just put everything away together after last Christmas, you will probably find the 'plug' in a box in the loft, with the tinsel.
  • lol I really don't know why it wasn't put away with the lights all the others had their plugs with them it's usually the done thing. Hubby did say we had a problem with the lights when they were bought but I don't remember. Saying that they must have worked last year?

The plug he found didn't work so new lights have been bought.

I've looked through all the decoration boxes and nothing there either.

We don't have a proper loft, we live in a chalet bungalow and hubby put doors in the low walls for access to 'loft' space so easy to get to and it's completely empty.
