After you they're coming for the Jews.

And still people vote for them. I look around on the Tube and I think, 30% of the people I share this carriage (and country) with are anti-Semites. Shocking that we have come to this.

You do realise the tories have had to bar one of their candidates for anti semitism a couple of days ago. Their party is also rife with Islamophobia and racism. It's easier though isn't it to just smear those people you hate anyway!

You'll be there before me because I won't be voting for any racist, sexist, Marxist, terrorist-supporting lying anti-Semitic hatemonger.

You need to be cancelling your subscription to the Daily Mail.

    It's making you I'll.

Elections are won from the centre and always will be...centre right, centre left or bullseye centre. Whoever grabs the centre wins it'll always be that way.

And I'm no boomer. We had nothing. I was sleeping in my car at 21 when my dad died when I was 19 and the family went bankrupt.

I worked hard, worked smart, got my mum a mobile home, bought my first home, did years and years of 17 hour days and managed to call it a day in my late 50's. Never drew a tanner in benefits, never had a council house.

I've earned my money, not been given it.

And I want to keep as much of it as possible for my childen / grandchildren to have, not waste it on 'free' stuff when anyone with a double digit IQ can see that nothing in life is ever free.

Also, it's not austerity, it's living within your means. Whether it's your household or the country it makes no difference; AT SOME POINT tax receipts have to match or exceed what's going out. It's simple maths, if that doesn't happen, eventually you'll go skint. Long term, you CANNOT borrow your way out of trouble.
We all have our stories and yes everything has to be paid for. The point is by who? It's also simplistic to talk about a political 'centre'. Johnson himself is promising spending on a level previous tory Govmts wouldn't contemplate.....but there again he just lies and lies!
  • Meanwhile Labour is now promising to decriminalise all abortions. So that would be right up to 9 months then.

    https://labour.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Real-Change-Labour-Manifesto-2019.pdf p48

Labour, the party of infanticide. A kinder, gentler politics.

Why stop at 9 months? Why not allow it up to say age 5? Or 21? Or at any age?

It would certainly solve the generation gap in wealth. You could just have your own parents aborted when they hit, say, 70.

Do you realise how ridiculous this makes you sound?

Try educating yourself before shouting "Baby Killers"

But I suppose the real problem is that some are thick enough to believe the BS.

I've given you the actual text. It is explicit: all abortions will be legal.

At the moment they're illegal other than under certain circumstances and up to a certain point. Labour's proposal is for all of them to be legal. That would include back street abortions and abortions at 40 weeks.

    Go ahead and defend it.

I don't have to defend it.

I supplied you with a link to what it actually means.

But you're too far in now to back down aren't you?

    Direct from the labour manifesto....
    Refuge Fund, ensure financial stability
for rape crisis centres and reintroduce
    a Domestic Abuse Bill.
We will improve the safety of the
    family court system for domestic
    violence victims and prohibit their
    cross-examination by their abuser.
We will introduce protections for victims
of so-called revenge !!!!!!. Labour will
    introduce a no-fault divorce procedure.
    We will uphold women’s reproductive
    rights and decriminalise abortions.

    We will establish public inquiries
    into historical injustices including
    blacklisting and Orgreave, and ensure
the second phase of the Grenfell
Inquiry has the confidence of all
    those affected, especially the bereaved
families and survivors. We will also
consider a public inquiry in the case
    of Zane Gbangbola.
    - Labour manifesto page 48

Thats not suggesting what you say it is. That suggests theyre decriminalising abortions because it says they will 'decrimalise abortions'.

It might mean that but like always with labour, the detail appear to be lacking. Stroke a broad brush, youll cover more area.

Although the Tory party has a deep rooted historical problem with antisemitism within its ranks, I don't think it's fair to portray each and every tory voter as an antisemite :naughty:

Don't blame me, I voted Remain.
